For parents only!
As life gets faster and more complex, we find ourselves getting increasingly distracted and stressed. We admonish our children to “Pay attention!”, yet struggle ourselves to put down our phones or engage with our kids more deeply. Fortunately, there is a solution to these difficulties. Mindfulness (i.e., sustained awareness of moment-to-moment experience) has been shown to increase attention, improve physical health, and lower stress. When applied to parenting and family life, mindfulness can improve relationships between family members by reducing emotional reactivity. In this workshop, Dr. Jonathan Kaplan, a clinical psychologist, and Ms. Bonnie Levine, an educator, introduce mindfulness and discuss its relevance to modern parenting. Register at NY Insight.
